Item Details

A good quality, 18th century, Wedgwood blue jasper salt. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1780. The solid blue jasper, engine turned body is decorated with garlands of flowers in white relief and the interior of the salt has been polished. This was something that was only done in the 18th century. There are two chips, one to the rim and one to the foot, and the piece also has some staining but it is still a lovely example of 18th century jasper.
