Item Details

A 19th century, steel bread knife with a carved wooden handle. Originally there was some engraving on the blade of this knife but it is now barely visible due to years of use and sharpening. The handle is carved in sycamore with stylised wheat and flowers and, like the handle, this is also well worn. The knife dates from c.1880. There is a split in the wooden handle but otherwise the piece is in good condition and it is still usable.
