Item Description
A nineteenth century, hinged, three part, circular copper pie mould. This type of mould was used for making a raised game or meat pie. This example is made from a very heavy gauge of copper, it is probably French and it dates from c.1870. The design is simple, with fluted sides, and it is stamped with a number ‘9’. It has seen a lot of use and is no longer in the best condition. There was a split in the side which has now been filled, this can be seen in the images, and there is a further small pin hole. The hinges are a little knocked about, as are the top and bottom rims.
Dimensions: Height 10.5cm. Diameter 21.5cm.
