Item Details

A nineteenth century, French copper bucket with a folding steel handle. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. It has a wired rim, a castellated seam up the side, and flat copper strap fittings to the handle. It was probably made for use as a coal bucket, or for use in the garden, as it was never tinned. There is minor denting to the copper, from use, otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Height 28.8cm. Diameter 30cm. Width across the handles 36cm.
