Item Details

A good quality, miniature, 19th century, French copper, oblong casserole. This would have been made as a travellers sample as the interior was tinned to show how they would have been for use. It is an exact replica of the full size versions, with nicely shaped brass handles to the ends and also to the lid. It is very well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, has castellated seams and it dates from c.1880. It is in very good condition but the tinning to the interior is now worn.
