Item Details

An unusual, 19th century, sycamore breadboard with a carved border. This is English and it dates from c.1890. The border is well carved with “BREAD” in quite a simple, but curved, font. The remainder of the border is carved with long leaves, and half a flower, and there is an inner, shaped border. Much of this is against a stipple carved background and there are also tooled designs within the border. The board is in excellent condition, with just the usual scratching to both the face and the reverse of the board from use.
