Item Description
A nice quality, 19th century, white marble mortar with a beechwood pestle. This mortar has pale grey veining to the marble, which is very similar to the marble from Carrara, so it is probably Northern Italian and it dates from c.1850. The pestle is turned from beechwood. There is a very small chip on the rim of the mortar, on the lobe by the spout, but otherwise, both the mortar and pestle are in very good condition.
Dimensions: Mortar: Width 24cm. Height 15.6cm. Pestle: Length 25.5cm. Diameter 5.2cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £50. Most of Western Europe add £25.
