Item Details

A well carved 19th century, beechwood breadboard. This is English and it dates from c.1880. The border is deeply carved with “Welcome” set between oak leaves and acorns and long ears of wheat. The carving is slightly worn but still has very good depth and detail. There are no splits, just the usual knife marks to both sides of the board, from use, and there is minor chipping to the rim.
Dimensions: Diameter 29.8cm. Depth 2cm.
