Item Details

A nineteenth century, beechwood butter roller. This would have been used to imprint a design around the edge of a large block of butter. It is well carved, with three different types of flower and a cow, and it dates from c.1850. There is a split in the wheel, across one of the flowers, and there are a couple of small woodworm holes which have been treated. Otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Length 14.2cm. Width 4.5cm. Diameter of the wheel 6cm.
