https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/appleby-antiquesAn unusual, 19th century, beechwood flummery mould. This is carved with a cross, a heart and an anchor. This is an unusual combination of items and the mould was possibly carved for use on a specific religious festival. Although the mould is probably French, flummery, which is a sweet, soft dessert made from steeping oatmeal, originated in Britain in the 17th century. The mould is in excellent condition.
