A fabulous quality, 19th century, French boxwood nutcracker carved in the form of a bull’s head. This beautiful piece dates from c.1860. The carving is wonderfully detailed and the wood has a lovely patina. There is very slight staining around the opening for the nut and the bull has lost the end of one of his ears. Other than this it is in good condition and it is an exceptional piece.
Dimensions: Length 20.5cm. Width across ears 6cm. Height 5.5cm.
