Item Details

A very attractive crystal jug designed by Gustave Serrurier-Bovy. Made from Belgian crystal, and banded in brass with brass fittings and handle, this is a very stylish design. Serrurier-Bovy was credited with creating the Art Nouveau style and, in 1884, on a visit to London, he became interested in the Arts and Crafts movement. He was most well known for his furniture designs, which he sold through his store in his birthplace Liege, and he also designed accessories which complimented the furniture. This jug dates from c.1890 and it is in excellent condition.
