A nice quality, 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is well carved with “Want Not” in an ornate script. The remainder of the border is carved with long ears of wheat and a cartouche. Much of the carving is quite worn, giving the board character. It dates from c.1880 and is in good condition. There are scratch marks to the face of the board, from use, and there are a couple of very small stains but there are no cracks or splits in the wood. It has a lovely, honey coloured patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 29.5cm. Depth 2.2cm.
