Item Description
A very good quality, early 19th century, Wedgwood, dark blue jasper dip Campana vase. This is marked ”WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1820. There is also a further, small impressed mark which is known as the moustache mark. The vase is decorated, in white relief, with a band of classical maidens offering sacrifices. There are foliate borders to the foot and rim and, beneath the figures, is a band of acanthus and classical motifs. The reliefs are all very good quality, the jasper dip is a rich shade of blue, and the vase is in excellent condition. This shape of vase often had one, or sometimes two, lids but this example was never designed to have a lid as there is no ridge, on the inside, for the lid to sit onto.
Dimensions: Height 15cm. Diameter at the rim 13cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £30. Most of Western Europe add £15.
