Item Details

An early 19th century, Wedgwood dark blue jasper dip brooch in a gilt metal surround. The jasper cameo is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1820. It is decorated, in white relief, with a classical figure playing a lyre and this represents one of the Muses. The gold coloured, metal surround is probably pinchbeck and is contemporary with the cameo. The piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 5cm. Width 4cm. Depth 1.2cm.
