Item Description
A unique, late 17th or early 18th century pastry tool with a copper wheel and steel handle. This is a fascinating piece. The wheel, for trimming the pastry, appears to have been cut from a copper coin. One side of the wheel has a “CC” monogram beneath a crown and there is writing to the rim. The other side of the wheel has a word running through the centre but all of the writing is obscured because of the way that the coin has been cut to make the wheel. It is mounted in a long, hand forged steel handle. This must have been made as a one off and probably dates somewhere between 1680 and 1720. It is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Length 23cm. Diameter of wheel 3.3cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
