Item Details

A good quality, 19th century, English copper bain marie pan and cover. This is stamped, to the base, with “ A & N C.S.L.” This refers to the Army and Navy Co-Operative Society Ltd, which was established in 1871. The pan would have been retailed by them and it dates from c.1880. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. There is a steel handle to the pan and a mushroom shaped, brass finial to the lid. The pan and cover are both in excellent condition and the interiors have been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 11.6cm. Depth of pan 13cm. Overall length of pan and handle 24cm.
