Item Description
A 19th century, French copper daubiere or brasing pan, complete with trivet. This is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it dates from c.1860. It has wide, castellated seams around the base and up the sides and the brass handles are very simple in form. The raised rim on the lid is designed so that you could put coals into it and the contents of the pan would cook slowly from both beneath and above. It is in very good condition and is complete with its original copper trivet. Although we have not had is tinned recently, the tinning is still in good enough condition for it to be used.
