Item Description
A nineteenth century, French copper, double sugar spinner. This is made from a substantial gauge of copper, it has a simple, turned oak handle, and it dates from c.1860. It would have been used for doing fancy sugar work. The caramelised sugar would have been poured carefully from the narrow spout, and woven into shapes such as baskets and nests. The divider down the centre allows for two different colours of sugar to be poured at the same time.
There is slight denting to the copper but generally it is in good condition.
Dimensions: Length 26.7cm. Width 15.5cm. Depth 6cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the US.A. add £25. Most of Western Europe add £12.
