Item Details

A good quality, 19th century, French copper sugar spinner. This type of implement was made for doing fancy sugar work. It would be filled with caramelised sugar which would then be spun through the pointed spout, to form sugar baskets or nests for decoration. This example is well made, from a substantial gauge of copper, and it has a turned oak handle. It dates from c.1880 and is in excellent condition.
