Item Details

An early 19th century, walnut mould. This is very deeply carved with a classical scroll design. It is also incised with the number ’486’. It would originally have been carved as a gesso mould, but it could also be used for fancy sugar work. It is English and dates from c.1820. It is in excellent condition and the wood has a lovely, rich patina.
Dimensions: Length 17.5cm. Width 13.6cm. Depth 2.5cm.
