Item Details

A good quality, 19th century, French copper jug. This jug is very similar in shape to the cider measures which were used in France but it does not have the cut out just above the handle. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper and it has a castellated seam up the back. It dates from c.1870. To the rim is a narrow band of copper which would act as a strengthener. There are a couple of very small dents in the hollow handle but other than that it is in excellent condition.
