Item Details

A fabulous quality, nineteenth century steel sugar or ice cleaver in the shape of a pigeon. This is French and it dates from c.1870. The handle, which is nicely shaped, is made from brass and attached with large copper rivets and the pigeon is quite naturalistically shaped. There is very slight pitting to the blade, from use, but otherwise the piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 21cm. Length 34.3cm. Width of handle 1.5cm.
