Item Details

A steel bread knife with a carved beechwood handle. The handle is carved with the name of the bread “HOVIS”. Mass production of Hovis started in 1886 and this knife dates from c.1900. The steel blade is engraved, in an ornate script, with “Bread Knife” in a scrolling cartouche. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 31cm. Width of blade 3cm. Diameter of handle 2.7cm.
