Item Details

A huge, early 19th century, French copper jug. This is a lovely quality piece and it has very usual, heart shaped decorations to the sides. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, with castellated seams and an eight sided handle. This attractive, baluster shape has a very wide, banded rim which is stamped “R. HOUSET”. This would be the name of a previous owner. It dates from c.1830. There is slight denting to the handle and the wired foot is damaged. This can be seen in the images. There is also slight marking to the copper.
