Item Details

A huge and deep, 19th century, French copper egg whisking bowl. Due to its size this must have been made for use in a hotel or the large kitchen of a chateau. Deep egg bowls are quite uncommon, particularly in such a large size. This one is marked “LETANG FILS PARIS 108 R.VIEILLE DU TEMPLE” and it dates from c.1880. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and the copper has a slightly planished finish. It has a rolled rim and a heavy copper ring handle is attached so that it can hand when not in use. It is in excellent condition.
