https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/appleby-antiquesA very large, 19th century copper cake mould. There is just a trace of a mark on the rim of the mould which appears to be the remainder of the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams, but it very worn, with polishing, and is not really legible. However, I would say that this mould is probably by Benhams and dates from c.1870. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper. The design consists of two tiers of wrythen fluting. There are some very tiny dents to the top of the mould but generally it is in very good condition. The tinning, to the interior, is worn.
Dimensions: height 22cm. Diameter 20.4cm.
