Item Description
A large, English copper saucepan with a matched lid. This is stamped with the orb and cross symbol used by Benhams to the base and there is also the remains of a workman’s mark in the form of a radiating sun. The pan is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper and it has castellated seams around the base and up the side. It dates from c.1880. It has the typical, English, triangular form of handle and , to the opposite side, there is a brass handle to make the pan easier to handle when full. The lid, which is stamped with the letters “V.R” and the number “10”, has a very slightly different shaped fitting to the handle. There is very slight denting to the lid but otherwise the piece is in very good condition and the interior has been re-tinned so that it can be used.
Dimensions: Diameter of pan 25.5cm. Depth of pan 15.7cm. Overall length of pan and handle 55.4cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £50. Most of Western Europe add £25.
