Item Details

A large, 19th century, French copper pie dish or gratin. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1860. It has a heavy copper ring handle attached so that it can hang when not in use and the rim is wired. It is in very good condition and, although it hasn’t recently been re-tinned, the tinning is still in good enough condition for it to be used. It is a perfect size for an impressive pie or gratin for a large family occasion and can be taken straight from the oven to the table.
