Item Description
An interesting, 19th century, pewter ice cream mould in the shape of a man carrying a lamp. The man holds a staff in the other hand and there is a curly haired dog at his feet. This is German and it dates from c.1880. The base of the mould is marked, in the casting, “Gesetz geschutzt” which translates as “protected by law”. This could possible be the equivalent of our patents which were given to companies for different designs. The mould is made in two parts, which are hinged together, and the design is very well detailed. It is in very good condition. The exterior has a dark patina and the interior is still in good, usable condition.
Dimensions: Height 27.8cm. Length 12.2cm. Width 10.5cm.
Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £30. Most of Western Europe add £15.
