Item Details

A rare, large, three pewter ice cream mould in the shape a cockerel. This magnificent beast is French and dates from c.1870. The modelling to the interior is exceptionally fine and would turn out a very detailed, three dimensional, ice cream cockerel. The mould is in very good condition and is complete with its original pewter base. Although the interior is slightly dull it is still in very good, usable condition and the exterior of the mould has a lovely, dark patina. It is held together by brass pins and these are replacements.
