Item Details

A copper straining spoon with a long, carved wooden handle. This is English and it dates from c.1860. It would have been used for skimming the scum from preserves or for straining curds and whey. The copper spoon is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it is attached to the wooden handle with a bronze fitting. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 64.6cm. Width 8cm.
