Item Details

A 19th century, dust pressed, Minton tile from the Shakespearian series. This tile is unmarked but it dates from c.1880. It is printed, in brown on a beige background, with a scene from Anthony and Cleopatra, Act V, Scene II. This Shakespearian series was designed by Moyr Smith and the tile is signed “IMS” within the print. There are two very small chips to the rim but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
