Item Details

A Minton, dust pressed tile from the Fairy Tale series. This is marked, in the casting, “MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE IN TRENT” above the globe mark with “MINTON” across the centre, surrounded by “STOKE UPON TRENT WALBROOK LONDON”. This series was designed by Moyr Smith and the tile dates from c.1880. It is printed, in blue, and titled “BLUE BEARD” and it is signed “J M S”. There is very slight chipping to the rim but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
