Item Details

A Minton, dust pressed, block printed tile set in a wooden frame. This is marked, in the casting, “MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT MADE IN ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. There is also a number “N 1699” printed in blue. The face of the tile is printed, in blue, with two donkeys and this is from a series depicting farmyard animals which was first introduced in the 1870’s. It is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Tile 15.2cm. square. Frame 16.8cm. square.
