Item Details

A 19th century, dust pressed, Minton tile from the Shakespearian series. This is marked, in the casting, “MINTON’S CHINA WORKS, STOKE ON TRENT” and it dates from c.1880. It is printed, in brown on a beige background, with a scene from King Henry the Fourth, Act II, Scene IV. This Shakespearian series was designed by Moyr Smith and the tile is signed “IMS” within the print. There is a chip to the reverse, on one corner, but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
