Item Details

A 19th century, dust pressed, Minton tile from the Shakespearian series. This is marked, in the casting, “MINTON’S CHINA WORKS, STOKE ON TRENT” and it dates from c.1880. It is printed, in brown on a beige background, with a scene from King Lear, Act I, Scene I. This Shakespearian series was designed by Moyr Smith. There is a tiny glaze chip on one corner but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
