Item Details

A 19th century, dust pressed, Minton tile from the Shakespearian series. This tile is unmarked but it dates from c.1880. It is printed, in brown on a beige background, with a scene from The Merchant of Venice, Act IV, Scene I. This Shakespearian series was designed by Moyr Smith and the tile is signed “IMS” within the print. There is a tiny chip to the bottom, left hand corner of the tile but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
