Item Details

A 19th century, dust pressed, Minton tile from the Shakespearian series. This tile is unmarked but it dates from c.1880. It is printed, in brown on a beige background, with a scene from Romeo and Juliet, Act I, Scene I. This Shakespearian series was designed by Moyr Smith and the tile is signed “IMS” within the print. There is a small chip to the top, left hand corner of the tile but otherwise it is in good condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
