Item Details

A nineteenth century, dust pressed tile from a series depicting the trades. This tile is marked “THE CAMPBELL BRICK & TILE CO. STOKE UPON TRENT” in the moulding. This series was designed by Moyr Smith and was produced in many different colours. This example was printed by Minton on a blank tile from the Campbell tile company. It is block printed in brown, on a buff background, with “The Shoe Maker”. It dates from c.1880 and is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
