Item Details

A dust pressed, Minton tile, transfer printed in brown, on an ivory background, with a farmer with a scythe. This is marked, to the reverse “MINTONS CHINA WORKS STOKE ON TRENT”. The design is from a series which was named “Village Life” and they were designed by William Wise and issued in 1882. They were produced from 1882 until 1885. The print is signed “W WISE” in the bottom left hand corner. The print is exceptionally good quality and the tile is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: 15.2cm. square by 1cm. thick.
