Item Details

A wonderfully worn, 19th century sycamore breadboard. Originally, the carving around the border of this broad, which depicts pears, apples and leaves, would have been very deep, and well detailed, This has been used and is now well worn, but this gives the board immense character. There are a couple of wood worm holes, which have now been filled, but generally the board is in good condition, with no splits. There is scratching, and knife marks to the face of the board which dates from c.1860.
