Item Details

A pair of early 19th century, Sheffield Plate glass coasters. These are quite a simple, but pleasing design and they date from c.1830. It is common, with Sheffield Plate, for the plating to wear, which reveals the copper beneath. This gives it character, and desirability, and it should not be replated as this destroys the character. This pair are in good condition, with both revealing a lot of the copper. This can be seen in the images.
