Item Description
A pair of Wedgwood, pale green, jasper dip candlesticks. These are marked “WEDGWOOD” and they are also impressed with a letter “T” which could be the workman’s mark. They date from c.1850. Each candlestick is decorated, in white relief, with two of the Muses standing between trees and foliage. There is a band of scrolls and flowers to the bases and a narrow band of leaves to the top of the columns. The reliefs are all very good quality. There is a small chip to the underside of the foot of one candlestick, which is not visible when the candlestick is upright. The other stick is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Height 20.5cm. Diameter at the foot 12cm. Diameter at the rim 6.5cm.
