Item Details

A tin ice cream mould with a pewter lid. This would have been used for making a block of ice cream with a decorative, moulded top. The pewter top is beautifully detailed with a range of naturalistic flowers and foliage. The mould is unmarked, it is English, and it dates from c.1900. The tin base is dented but, as it is double skinned, this does not show through on the interior. The piece is still in very good, usable condition and the exterior has a dark patina.
Dimensions: Length 22.2cm. Width 10cm. Depth when closed 7cm.
