https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/appleby-antiquesA rare, 18th century, creamware jelly mould with a pineapple to the base. This mould is rare because it is marked “WILSON”. This is the mark of Robert Wilson, of the Church Works, Hanley, Staffordshire. This pottery was only in existence from 1795 to 1801. Very few jelly moulds were made by this pottery and even fewer were marked. We have had core moulds with this mark but in over 40 years specialising in moulds we have never had this mark on what, at the time, would have been seen as a household item. The mould is extremely well potted, with superb detail to the design. The creamware is light, with a rich yellowy green glaze, and the piece is in excellent condition.
