https://www.thehoarde.com/dealers/appleby-antiquesA rare Wedgwood creamware jelly mould from the Egyptian series. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1800. It is also impressed with a large letter “K” which is a workman’s mark. The deign depicts an Egyptian Hieroglyph and this is from a rare series of moulds which Wedgwood designed to commemorate the battle of the Nile in 1798. The mould is very well potted and the design is extremely well detailed. There are two quite large cracks, one in the rim and one in the foot, and these can be seen in the images. There is also some kiln grit to the interior of the mould.
