Item Details

A small pewter ice cream mould in the shape of a fish. This is marked, in the casting to both sides, “C.C. BREVETE S.G.D.G.” This is the mark of the French company Cadot and S.G.D.G. stands for “Brevete Sans Garantie Du Gouvernement” which translates as patented without government guarantee. The design is extremely well detailed and would turn out very well. The mould, which dates from c.1880, is in very good condition. The exterior has a lovely, dark patina and the interior is in good, bright, usable condition.
