It is also impressed with a letter “D”. This dark shade of green was known as Dysart green. It was developed for the Earl of Dysart who wanted to decorate a room in one of his homes in this colour. It was only produced between 1906 and 1912 as Wedgwood had problems with the green pigment in the glaze bleeding into the white relief. Because of this the production ceased. The jardiniere is decorated, in white relief, with four different classical subjects which stand beneath garlands of grapes and vines hanging from leopard head masks. To the rim is a narrow border of flowers. The piece is in excellent condition. Dimensions: Height 9cm. Diameter 10.2cm. Price includes postage within the U.K. Shipping to the U.S.A. add £20. Most of Western Europe add £10.
