A steel ice or sugar cleaver in the shape of a squirrel. This is French and it dates from c.1890. The blade is very naively shaped, to represent a squirrel, and has a very tiny copper rivet as an eye. The aluminium blade is attached by large copper rivets. There is pitting to the steel blade, from use, but otherwise the cleaver is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Length 28.4cm Height 14.4cm. Width of handle 1.5cm.
